Inaugural European OMFS Trainee Forum held in Brussels - 3 March 2023

In parallel to the OMFS Board and Section meetings, 22 trainees from all around Europe gathered to discussed current and future training in the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Nations from which trainees came included Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands and the UK.

Co-lead by Behrus Puladi, a trainee from Aachen who is the European Junior Doctors representative to the OMFS Section of UEMS and Francesco Lemma, the trainee representative from the European Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgeons, the trainees worked through a busy agenda with efficiency, camaraderie, and enormous good will to share their experiences of OMFS training.

The aim is to produce a report in the next few months. If the results of the Forum have value and impact, the plan is for them to meet next year on 2^nd March again in parallel to the Section and Board in Brussels.
