2026 Pre-Specialist Assessment - 3 sittings completed with 211 participants

2026 Pre-Specialist Assessment finished this morning (Sunday 30th of August).

A total of 211 trainees from all around the world completed one (or more) of the 3 sittings of this open access, free to use, 50 question OMFS MCQ. The OMFS Section thanks EACMFS for their co-operation and especially the unconditional grant from our corporate supporters at Medartis (Precision in Fixation). A report of the assessment can be downloaded from here

The Pre-Specialist assessment is formative (for learning) rather than being a summative demonstration of knowledge. Its purpose is to help trainees discover their unknown unknowns, especially in the run up to the European Board Exam this September in Athens. Its formative nature means that the scores are not important to anyone except the trainee. We share some statistics so that individual trainees can judge themselves against their peers. Trainees completing the assessment under 'exam conditions' should remember that some colleagues may have used this as an 'open book' revision session or a group of trainees may have completed it as a 'team'.

Those who completed the assessment can now review the questions and their answers by logging back into https://omfsexam.examfolio.com/

All the other Pre-Specialist and Formative assessments are now available - over 2000 MCQs across 24 assessments which are all free to use.

If you would like to contribute MCQs, the Section can offer 1 CME Point (ECMEC) for every 5 questions submitted. Use the contact form on the Section website to express an interest.
